After a long career in the high pressured, corporate recruitment and training industry, Tanya began her counselling and psychotherapy training in 2002.
Since then, Tanya has gone on to achieve accredited status with the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy, is a certified AXA Healthcare psychotherapist and Supervisor.
Tanya is trained as a British Psychological Approved Group Therapist and has since led many therapeutic groups including sessions for leading mental health charity, Mind.
Teaching and training work includes delivering a wide range of psychoeducational courses and events covering topics such as anxiety, stress, performance, listening & counselling skills, therapeutic writing and Mindfulness both privately, for corporate clients and for leading mental health charity. Since 2010, Tanya has been teaching meditation to reduce stress and anxiety.
Body of work includes provision of therapy for Family Matters charity (childhood sexual abuse and rape); Caterham Counselling Centre (General Practice); West Kent Mind (Community Development); employee counselling support for corporate, legal and professional services firms in London and the South East; Mental Health consultancy for Dame Kelly Holmes ‘Running Mind’ program; women’s wellbeing talks on balancing hormones with Dr Marilyn Granville PhD; referral service for numerous GP’s and consultants.
Published articles on counselling and wellbeing for various publications. Contributing writer for Dame Kelly Holmes ‘Running Life’ book (Section One on Mindset) which won The Telegraph Health Book of the Year.
Tanya is the owner and Head of Practice at the RightMind therapy and training centre in Sevenoaks, Kent.
In 2021 Tanya joined the board at Sevenoaks District Council for Youth Mental Health projects aimed at supporting 11-18 year olds.
Tanya has expertise in supporting the wellbeing and emotional health of those working in performance related careers including media, acting, music, theatre, publishing, production, elite athletics and sports men/woman completing at an international level. In addition to high achieving individuals and leaders who are working in professional service careers.
Since 2009, Tanya has worked with and supported individuals who experienced sexual abuse and trauma in childhood, including rape. This led to further qualification in psychosexual therapy to cover relationship issues, infidelity, fertility, identity and sexuality.
